Privacy policy

01What we collect

• Account details you give us: your email address and display name. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider, never in readable form.
• Activity on the site: votes you cast, coins you submit, coins you watch, community posts, boosts and banner requests you start.
• Payment details when you buy promotion: the amount, currency, status and the payment provider's reference. Card numbers are entered on the payment provider's page and never reach us.
• Basic technical data needed to run and protect the service, such as the requests your browser makes and the approximate region they come from.

02How we use it

• To run your account, count your votes against the daily limit, show your listings and deliver what you paid for.
• To review submissions and keep the rankings honest, including detecting duplicate or automated voting.
• To answer you when you contact us, and to send service emails such as verification codes, review decisions and receipts.
• To understand which parts of the site are used, so we can improve them. We do not sell your personal data.

03Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser storage that are needed to keep you signed in and to remember preferences like your saved watchlist. If we add measurement or advertising cookies, we ask for your consent first and you can change your choice at any time.

04Who we share it with

• Service providers who process data on our behalf: hosting and authentication, our market data provider, our email delivery provider, and our payment processor for card payments.
• Authorities or other parties where we are legally required to disclose, or where it is necessary to investigate fraud, abuse or a security incident.
• A buyer or successor if the business is sold or merged, under the same protections described here.

05How long we keep it

Account and activity records stay while your account is open. Payment and promotion records are kept longer where tax and accounting rules require it. When you delete your account we remove or anonymise your personal data, keeping only what we must retain.

06Security

Access to personal data is restricted, traffic is encrypted, and votes and purchases are validated on the server. No system is perfectly secure, so use a unique password and tell us at once if you suspect your account is compromised.

07Your choices and rights

• You can update your display name and account details from your account page.
• You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data.
• You can object to a particular use, or withdraw consent for optional cookies, without losing access to the core site.
• Requests go to support@coinhype.com and are answered within a reasonable period, usually 30 days.

08Children

CoinHype is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we will delete such an account if we learn about it.

09Changes

If this policy changes materially, we update the date at the top of the page and, where the change is significant, tell signed-in users by email or in the app.
